How “Career / Life Coaching” HELPS

Does Professional Career / Life Coaching Require Training?

Although no special degree or certification is required to become a Professional Career & Life Coach, an International Coach Federation (ICF) certification deepens my coaching knowledge with the ICF coaching Core Competencies and Code of Ethics. Several requirements must be met prior to becoming an ICF credentialed holder: comprehensive instruction classroom training for Coaching Core Competencies including the Code of Ethics, 100+ hours of hands-on coaching with paying clients, mentorship with an ICF credentialed coach, and a cumulative final exam that evaluates a student's coaching competency.

Why should you hire a Career / Life Coach?

Life comes with constant change. Some of those changes are within our control and others are not. Maybe you want a new career, maybe you’re eager to move to a new place, or maybe you’re ready for a promotion. You’ve talked to your friends and family members about your possible life-changing goal, but realized that they all have their own ideas of what you should do and opinions on how you need to get there. This is where a Professional Career/Life Coach can help. A Career/Life Coach’s job is to listen to you, ask the right questions to make you think hard about choices to achieve your objective(s), and set a safe, confidential and non-judgmental framework that you hold yourself accountable to complete your designed plan of action. In other words, a Professional Career/Life Coach helps you to realize and unleash your hidden potential.

How is Professional Coaching Different From therapy?

Coaching is not therapy, consulting, mentoring, and psychological treatment. Therapy, counseling, psychologist or psychiatrist is mainly focused on solving a possible illness or problem that started in the past. Coaching focuses on moving the client from present to future. Consulting and Mentoring are experts in specific fields and they provide advice, recommend solutions and possible plans of action. Coaching does not offer any advice or solutions. Through coaching sessions, the client discovers answers which ultimately result in a plan of action.

Professional Career or Life Coaching is a partnership between a coach and a client that inspires the client to seek out their maximum potential through collaborative and interactive coaching sessions searching for the client’s true objective(s).

What Does a Professional Career or Life Coach Do?

If you’re ready for a new career or looking to take a big leap, but feel too overwhelmed to make it happen, a Professional Career/Life Coach can help you shed some light on your values and hidden strengths. If you’re a small business owner and would like to grow your business but you’re not sure what to do and you already have so much on your plate, a Professional Career/Life Coach can help you to discover your true priorities and set realistic goals including a plan of action.

As your coach, I will ask you questions about your motivations and how you intend to make a change, and help you set clear, and measurable goals. We’ll meet regularly to discuss the actions you’ve taken to meet your goals. When you encounter roadblocks, we’ll work together to determine (without judgment) the true root cause of what’s preventing you from fulfilling your commitments so that you can move forward.
